Euro-Buddies Scheme |
Euro-Buddies Scheme The Euro Buddy Scheme (EBS) is a more personal system than the Partners' Ning Social Network Platform. The EBS was set up in an effort to increase inter-personal communication between seniors in partner countries. Learners in Partner countries were invited to join the scheme via their respective country coordinator. Country coordinator A would send the request to the appropriate partner B and e-mails addresses of learners exchanged. Learners in both countries, now Euro-Buddies, undertake to correspond with each other on alternate weeks on a particular day. A maximum of three Euro-Buddies is prescribed. Why only contacts every two weeks? And why stipulate a maximum of three Euro-Buddies? The short answer is motivation. It's rather like people going to evening classes in September. They start off well but then flag and finally stop going. Hence the day, the two week contact period and the maximum of three. The rule is only adopt a Euro-Buddy if you intend to carry it through.
